LGF has a note about and a picture of the new "burquini". Words fail me.
And I was sent a tidbit from the House of Representatives:
"These aren't Vulcans. There are Klingons in the White House. But unlike the real Klingons of Star Trek, these Klingons have never fought a battle of their own. Don't let faux Klingons send real Americans to war" -- Rep. David Wu (D-OR), treking (RushLimbaugh.com).
Perhaps Rep. Wu could be reminded that we have civilian control of the military here, and in fact that is a cornerstone of our Democracy. Then again, perhaps he could be reminded that Klingons aren't real.
I get so sick of the various chicken-hawk arguments: they're designed to be insulting (and they are), and they coarsen the debate. Honestly, if we're going to make personal experience of the holder the touchstone for whether or not a given opinion is legitimate, then only astronauts should vote on the budget for NASA, right? Completely idiotic.
